A workshop on Geo Engineering for Conservation of Cultural Heritage - Role of Geo Engineering for Conservation of Word Heritage will be held in Paris on 4 and 6 September 2013.
Geotechnical Engineering is one of the fundamental and important fields for conservation of Cultural Heritage. Additionally, conservation needs interdisciplinary approach from
various fields such as geology, geomorphology, archaeology, geophysics, geochemistry, and conservator.
The 18th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ICSMGE) provides an opportunity for researchers in different fields to meet and exchange experiences, information and new understandings.
The Workshop will be held in two parts.
Part I is one of the sessions of the18th ICSMGE where summary and overview of each paper will be presented. This 90mn session will take place on Wednesday 4 September, at 14:00 at the Paris International Conference Centre located in Le Palais des Congrès de Paris, 2 place de la Porte Maillot - 75017 Paris
Part II is a satellite session organized by ATC19 and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre where each author will be able to present in detail his/her paper followed by discussions and debates. This session will take place on Friday 6 Septembre (9am-6pm) in Salle VI, UNESCO House, 7 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris.
