La sauvegarde du patrimoine mondial africain, moteur de développement durable
La Conférence internationale « Le patrimoine mondial africain, moteur de développement durable » co-organisée par le Centre du patrimoine mondial, la République-Unie de Tanzanie et la République populaire de Chine se tiendra du 31 mai au 3 juin 2016 sur l’aire de conservation de Ngorongoro, inscrite à la liste du patrimoine mondial, située à Arusha (Tanzanie) .
La conférence réunira les diverses parties prenantes du patrimoine africain afin de les sensibiliser aux questions actuelles que sont la conservation du patrimoine et le développement durable. Les débats refléteront l’intérêt porté « à la planète, aux peuples, à la prospérité et à la paix », questions jugées essentielles dans le Programme de développement durable à l’horizon 2030.
La conférence a pour principal objectif d’aborder les enjeux, les défis et les principaux obstacles qui freinent la gestion et la conservation efficaces du patrimoine mondial africain. Les recommandations de la conférence seront soumises aux États parties à la Convention du patrimoine mondial, à l’UNESCO, aux partenaires de développement, aux promoteurs et aux industriels du développement, à la société civile et aux communautés locales.
