Description
In 1991, ICOMOS sent a monitoring mission whose report recommended the implementation of an Urban Development Plan and a Master Plan for the historic area of the city, stressing the importance of preserving the urban and natural landscape as well as its environment, which were endangered by urban growth and industrialization. The report also recommended a tourist impact study on that World Heritage site.
