Graz is a particularly fine example of the living heritage of a central European urban complex that was under Habsburg rule for many centuries. The old city is a harmonious blend of the architectural styles and artistic movements that have succeeded each other since the Middle Ages, together with cultural influences from the neighbouring regions.

Graz est un modèle exemplaire de patrimoine vivant d’un ensemble urbain d’Europe centrale marqué par la présence séculaire des Habsbourg. La vieille ville intègre harmonieusement les styles architecturaux et les courants artistiques qui s’y sont succédé depuis le Moyen Âge, ainsi que des influences culturelles variées venant des régions voisines.

Este complejo urbano de Europa Central lleva la impronta de los muchos siglos en que la ciudad fue gobernada por la dinastí­a de los Habsburgo. La ciudad vieja integra con armoní­a todos los estilos arquitectónicos y las corrientes artí­sticas que se han sucedido desde la Edad Media, así­ como las diversas influencias culturales de las regiones vecinas.
