On 21 and 22 March 2017, the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage, under the patronage of UNESCO, organised the Historic Urban Landscape Forum (HUL Forum).

"The HUL Forum is a networking initiative generously supported by the Bartlett Faculty for the Built Environment that aims to foster constructive dialogue between academic researchers and practitioners who engage with urban heritage. It comes as an alternative response to self-referential disciplinary discourses that breed academic and/or professional exclusivity based on detached worldviews for phenomena that are highly complex and interrelated – such as heritage, cultural production, and protection thereof, in fast-evolving and ever-changing/growing urbanities."
