Current conservation issues
The Secretariat was informed on several occasions of the construction of a building on the Parvis of the Cathedral. Consultation with the French Delegation to UNESCO have been held and an ICOMOS mission was sent to Amiens. After this mission, ICOMOS informed the Secretariat that the new building was not compromising the values for which the Cathedral was inscribed on the World Heritage List and that its design and proportions were fully in keeping with the overall appearance of the Parvis and the setting of the Cathedral.
