The ‘Making of’ the draft Policy Compendium – Side Event at the 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee in Manama, Bahrain
A side event dedicated to the ‘Making of’ the draft Policy Compendium was held during the 42nd session of the World Heritage Committee in Manama, Bahrain (24 June – 4 July 2018). During the event, a panel composed of experts from the Policy Compendium Working Group and representatives of the World Heritage Centre presented their work to date on the draft Policy Compendium.
The presentation by the international experts looked at the challenges of developing a Policy Compendium for World Heritage, the methodology used by the group and the content of the draft Compendium. Following the presentation by the experts, a question and answer session was held where members of the audience, which included World Heritage Committee members, representatives of Civil Society organizations and other observers, had the opportunity to question the experts on the process of developing the Compendium and the results achieved.
