The legal aspects of national cultural heritage and its relationship with the public international law on heritage protection

The overall objective of the meeting is to discuss and share experiences on the challenges of heritage management and its relationship with the enactment and effective implementation of regulatory frameworks for World Heritage at national level.

The event is organized by the National Commission of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay, the Permanent Delegation of Uruguay to UNESCO, and the Latin America, the UNESCO Office in Montevideo and Caribbean Unit of the World Heritage Centre.

It will feature the participation of renowned international experts on issues such as cultural legislation, national representatives of Latin America and the Caribbean States Parties to UNESCO, as well as politicians, technical and administrative personnel working in the field of culture and heritage at the national level from 12 countries in the Region.
