Training Workshop for Strengthening the Protection and Management of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

The objective of the workshop is to raise the awareness of the local people and local authorities on the outstanding universal value of the World Heritage site, the World Heritage Convention, and the existing protection framework (such as national laws and institutions) to strengthen the protection and management framework of the World Heritage site. There will be two parts to the workshop: one session for representatives of the local people, and another for local government representatives of the World Heritage site.  

Participants include representatives from the World Heritage Centre, IUCN, the Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO, the Ha Long Bay World Heritage site management board, the Ministry of Environment and Resources, the Ministry of Construction, the Institute of Urban Planning and Rural Development, and the Forestry Inspection Agency.
