The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Education of Finland, the Ministry of Environment of Finland and the National Board of Antiquities of Finland in cooperation with the Monitoring Group on Cultural Heritage Co-operation in the Baltic Sea States, Working Groups on Sustainable Historic Towns and Building Preservation and Maintenance in Practice.
The purpose of the Forum is to identify a number of specific cases around the Baltic Sea in order to develop and promote cooperation on cultural heritage matters. Professionals, researchers, non-governmental organisations, politicians and the public have been invited as well as experts from ICOMOS, ICCROM and DOCOMOMO.
