Description

This historic site is compounded by a cauldron house, a purge house and the hydraulically tracked sugar mill. The zone of the cauldron house is the most important part of a sugar refinery. It has a group of structures the refined sugar into tiny crystals. The spanish train has five ovens built with bricks and each one has particular fire systems. A water canal. By 1518, Don Diego Caballero de la Rosa asked the king a league of land in square measurement with the faculty to have juridical proceeding over it, with the purpose to find a village. The Diego Caballero Sugar Mill costed the King 15,000 gold coins and it had a population formed by spaniards, negroes and indians with more than sixty stone made houses and a church with a clergy man. Another important construction of the Diego Caballero was the water canal. The water was taken by this channel to a distance of one and a half league, was necessary to drill big mountains and bring the liquid crossing through sand piles and killed a lot of African slaves during the consummation. The project took over six years to end.
