Description

"INGAPIRCA" is an archeological canari-inca site, which had multifunctional characteristics. It is composed by a temple, administrative center, ceremonial area; the "Castle" is of elliptical shape and contains places for the guards, big and small areas for lodging, a square ("kancha"), ceremonial baths and several steps. The site was bnilt with stones of the region and it has an architectural layout of great harmony. In the site, there are traces of pre-Hispanic settlements showing that the Incas built "Ingapirca" on top of an ancient canari site.
