Conservation issues presented to the World Heritage Committee in 2001

Following examination by ICOMOS of information provided by a group of residents on this building proposal, ICOMOS informed the Secretariat that it considers the project to be unacceptable due to its proximity to the World Heritage site, significantly blocking the view from certain points, and causing adverse visual impact at the historic site.

A request for further and detailed information regarding this building proposal has been forwarded to the Permanent Delegation of Greece. However, at the time of the preparation of this document, this information had not been received by the Secretariat.
