WWF Nepal has confirmed there are no survivors from Saturday's helicopter crash which occurred while transporting 24 delegates to attend the handover of Kangchenjunga Conservation Area in Taplejung, Nepal. The flight left Ghunsa Saturday afternoon at 12pm but did not arrive as per schedule (a 20-minute flight) back to Taplejung. Rescue teams searched for two days before finding the wreckage today, 1.8 kilometres (1.15 miles) from Ghunsa village.

It was found by a search team who had hiked in on foot.

"We send our condolences to the families of all those who were involved in this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with the families, and we are doing everything we can to support them," said WWF International Director General James Leape.

The deaths amount to the biggest single loss of life in WWF's 45-year history.
