The managers of the French properties inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and their institutional partners met on 30, 31 May and 1 June last in the Mining Basin for their 16th Annual Meeting, following an invitation by the Mining Basin Mission.

Over 100 people were present to attend the General Assembly of the association, to participate in the afternoon debate devoted to the various projects put in place by the sites over the past year and also to take part in the drafting of the Association’s charter of values which took place on the last day of the annual Meeting.

Furthermore, these annual Meetings enabled the participants to discover the Electricians’ City of Bruay-la-Buissière, the Historic Mining Centre of Lewarde, as well as the Louvre Lens, which was accomplished by the Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, alias Sanaa.

The next annual Meeting of the French World Heritage properties Association will take place in Bourges, from 15 to 17 May 2019.
