Following Decisions of the World Heritage Committee, the World Heritage Centre expects a total of 60 state of conservation reports on World Heritage properties which are due to be received by the deadline of 1 December 2016.

The Director of the World Heritage Centre confirmed that a number of these reports have already been submitted, for example from Donana National Park (Spain), Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove (Nigeria) or Lakes of Ounianga (Chad).

In addition, the Centre received the requested update from the Australian authorities on the Great Barrier Reef regarding progress with the implementation of the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan.

The Director welcomed the commitment of States Parties in the implementation of the Convention and timely submission in line with the specific requests by the World Heritage Committee. These are being carefully reviewed by the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies (ICCROM, ICOMOS, IUCN) concerned.
