The World Heritage Committee,
- Having examined Documents WHC/16/40.COM/8B.Add and WHC/16/40.COM/INF.8B1.Add,
- Approves the proposed modification of the buffer zones of six component parts of The Grand Canal, China;
- Recommends that the State Party give consideration to the following:
- considering whether or not the other component parts forming the Grand Canal serial property necessitate buffer zone adjustments,
- continuing environmental and landscape conservancy efforts, for example by defining prioritised vision cones for the properties and protecting them from the impact of new buildings.
