B.1.4 Emergency assistance

B.1.4.1 Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian (China)

The Bureau approved the amount of US$ 26,000 for emergency assistance for emergency measures to prevent the collapse of some of the caves which suffered considerable damage due to unusually heavy rains in 1992/1993.

The Bureau requested the Chinese authorities to limit expenditure under World Heritage assistance for local labour as much as possible.
