The Secretariat has been informed on 20 July by the Italian authorities that the project for the demolition of 27 ancient buildings situated in the Historic Centre of Naples has been cancelled.

The Bureau may wish to adopt the following decision:

“The Bureau notes that the Italian authorities have taken action to halt the demolition of 27 ancients building in the Historic Centre of Naples and congratulates the State Party for protecting the World Heritage values of the site.”
