Description
Ranger Christian Shamavu from Virunga National Park rescued a poached baby Grauer's gorilla in an undercover operation where he and his ranger team posed as buyers for the gorilla, arresting the 3 men after they handed over the infant. The gorilla will stay at an enclosure at park headquarter in Rumangabo for a 30-day quarrantine period before moving to the Grace facility west of Butembo. The baby will be named Shamavu after the ranger who rescued her.
