Ecosystème forestier méditerranéen endémique,unique dans le monde par sa richesse en espèces végétales endémiques telles que Abies maroccaMa (Sapin du Maroc), rares ou remarquables, son paysage d'une beauté exceptionnelle (pics de montagnes calcaires, falaises, gorges, grottes...) surplombe la cité de Chefchaouen, ville de tradition andalouse.
