Conservation issues presented to the World Heritage Committee in 1995
The Permanent Delegation of Algeria informed the World Heritage Centre that the national authorities were continuing to devote all their efforts to the preservation of the world heritage values of the Kasbah of Algiers, to which they accord special interest.

The Bureau may wish to recommend to the Committee to adopt the following text:
"The Committee warmly thanked the authorities of Algeria for informing them of their firm intention to preserve the Kasbah of Algiers and requested them to continue to devote their efforts towards the conservation of this World Heritage property."

The committee was informed of the Algerian authorities' firm intention to continue their efforts in preserving the World Heritage values of the Kasbah of Algiers, and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had sent to the World Heritage Centre a "Report on the Actions for the Safeguarding of the Kasbah for 1995", in accordance with the request of the Committee during the inscription of the site in 1992.
The Committee thanked the Algerian Government for having provided the information concerning the high priority given to this site and the actions foreseen for its restoration.
The Secretariat recommends the Committee to take note of the written information provided by the Secretariat and to adopt the following:
"The Committee warmly thanked the authorities of Algeria for informing them of their firm intention to preserve the Kasbah of Algiers as well as for the measures which have been taken continuously for its preservation. The Committee requested them to continue to devote their efforts towards the conservation of this World Heritage property."
