Latin America and Caribbean Regional Workshop for promotion of UNESCO’s Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage

This regional workshop is part of UNESCO’s regional awareness-raising strategy for providing adequate and appropriate information and tools to acquaint those attending from the Latin America and Caribbean countries with this Convention. The meeting will not only enable the participants, most of whom are attached to the Ministries of Culture, Justice or Foreign Affairs in their respective countries, to increase their capacities and inform their national authorities of the importance of the Convention, but also to impress on them the urgency of ratification. The workshop will also be attended by many international experts.
