In the framework of the Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting exercise, launched in September 2021 in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, in collaboration with  the UNESCO field offices in the region, is organising an online regional workshop for site managers, on 10 February 2023.

Around 200 participants, including the designated World Heritage site managers on behalf of the 33 States Parties in the LAC region, will take part in this meeting, which aims at presenting the outcomes of the Periodic Reporting exercise that they have carried out from September 2021 to July 2022.

The consultation meeting will also be an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions on the state of conservation of World Heritage sites in the region and to formulate concrete actions in the form of a draft Action Plan for the region in view of presenting it to the World Heritage Committee at its upcoming 45th session.

This one-day meeting will be held online via the Zoom platform and interpretation will be provided in English and in Spanish.

Periodic Reporting is one of the core conservation monitoring mechanisms of the World Heritage Convention. Every six years, the States Parties are invited to submit to the World Heritage Committee a Periodic Report on the application of the World Heritage Convention in their region. The Periodic Reporting questionnaire is the occasion for national Focal Points and site managers to address concrete issues and inform about how their World Heritage properties are being managed over time.
