The city of Quebec (Canada) will have the honor of hosting the 16th World Congress of the OWHC, from September 6 to 9, 2022.
The theme, “Enhancing Livability in World Heritage Cities,” is particularly pertinent to consider emerging new lifestyles, how ways of inhabiting cities are changing and the wants and needs of various city users (inhabitants, but also elected officials, technicians, workers, visitors, etc.). The Congress will initiate an operational approach towards proposing a “new urban project” that the OWHC wishes to promote and implement in the future. It will consist of a new approach to the city – secure, local, welcoming, inclusive, cohesive, ecological, etc. – driven by the active enhancement of a city’s historic urban fabric.
