ICAHM 2017 Annual Meeting: Archaeological Heritage in Sub-Saharan Africa

The International Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management (ICAHM) has been granted the patronage of UNESCO for its ICAHM 2017 Annual Meeting: Archaeological Heritage in Sub-Saharan Africa, International Trade Routes and Conservation, 2-5 October, in Tanzania.

The emphasis of this meeting will be on trade routes to and from Sub-Saharan Africa to the rest of the world, the Africa Initiative, and conservation and sustainable use of paleoanthropological sites. There will also be sessions on World Heritage Sites as Sources for Sustainable Development and Digital Technologies and Archaeological Heritage Management.

A Safari Extension to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Serengeti National Park, is also proposed. This 5 day/4 night extension in this World Heritage site includes two nights in the northern Serengeti along the Migration path in a luxury tented mobile camp, and one night in the Central Serengeti. The extension is limited to 12 people and the registration deadline is 3 August.

The conference registration deadline is 31 August.
