The Vilm workshop on World Heritage and Sustainable development – From Policy to Action

To operationalize the Policy for the integration of a sustainable development perspective into the processes of the World Heritage Convention, the participants of the Vilm workshop elaborated an action plan, which was produced as an aspirational set of activities and timescales for the implementation of the policy, aiming to engage all the stakeholders of the Convention, at international, regional, and local levels.
The meeting was organised jointly by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) with its International Academy for Nature Conservation, IUCN, ICCROM and ICOMOS, in cooperation with the World Heritage Centre.
