The Earth Skills Network is a unique partnership between the conservation world and business, which provides training on business planning and effective management practices to protected areas, World Heritage sites, sites on the tentative list, protected area agencies or management authorities in Africa. The call for applications for the 2014 training programme is now open.
The Earth Skills Network is the evolution of the successful Business Skills for World Sites Heritage programme which ran between 2009 and 2013 in partnership between UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the international environmental charity Earthwatch, and the global energy company Royal Dutch Shell.
Eligibility : The programme is open to all permanent staff from Natural Protected Areas, Protected Area Agencies or Management Authorities in Africa. For each selected site, three staff from the site must be available to participate in the full programme. Selected participants must be fluent in English, as English is the main training language and application materials must be completed in English.
Costs : All costs are covered by the organizers, including transportation.

Location : The Mpala Research Centre in Kenya
Dates : Three training courses will be organized in September, October and November 2014. After the training course, the participants will receive further technical support for the following 12 months from an expert.
