The World Heritage Committee,
- Having examined Document WHC/24/46.COM/6B,
- Recalling Decision 45 COM 6 adopted at its extended 45th session (Riyadh, 2023),
- Congratulates the World Heritage-related Category 2 Institutes and Centres under the auspices of UNESCO (C2Cs) for their contributions to the implementation of the World Heritage Convention, especially towards the Strategic Objectives of the World Heritage Convention and UNESCO’s Global Priorities;
- Thanks the governments of Bahrein, Brazil, China, India, Mexico, the Republic of Korea and South Africa for hosting active World Heritage-related C2Cs and thereby supporting the work of UNESCO and the implementation of the World Heritage Convention;
- Thanks States Parties that are contributing to the implementation of the World Heritage Convention through the C2Cs and further encourages States Parties to support these C2Cs in their regions for the implementation of World Heritage-related activities;
- Encourages States Parties to make full use of the capacities of the different C2Cs, based on their specialist areas, and to support and participate in their activities whenever possible;
- Also encourages C2Cs to continue organising activities that are international or regional in scope and contribute to the global development agendas, the strategic priorities of the World Heritage Committee and the implementation of the Framework Action Plans developed for each region as part of the Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting;
- Further encourages C2Cs to participate actively in the revision process of the World Heritage Capacity-Building Strategy and its subsequent implementation;
- Requests the World Heritage-related Category 2 centres under the auspices of UNESCO to submit to the World Heritage Centre, by 1 March 2025, a progress report on all their activities concerning the implementation of the World Heritage Convention since the present session, for examination by the World Heritage Committee at its 47th session.
