The World Heritage Committee,
- Having examined Document WHC/24/46.COM/7B,
- Commends the State Party for having promptly implemented, under the supervision of its cultural heritage services, measures to protect and preserve the property;
- Notes with appreciation the establishment by the State Party of technical commissions to assess the damage caused by the earthquake of 8 September 2023 and of a specialised scientific commission to examine draft demolition orders;
- Encourages the State Party to proceed with its efforts to ensure the implementation of restoration programmes for all the monuments of the property impacted by the earthquake;
- Requests the State Party to submit the following information to the World Heritage Centre:
- A scientific and technical report on the restoration work on the ramparts,
- A file containing the reports on the assessment of damaged parts of the property, reports on the completed restoration projects of Bahia Palace and Koutoubia Mosque, and the schedules for the implementation of the planned restoration works,
- Clarification on the management system, and in particular on the structure in place for the property, its status, staffing and scope of work, as well as its funding modalities;
- Also requests the State Party to continue the preliminary studies necessary to define the final provisions of the car parking projects within the property and to submit them for consideration by the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies;
- Finally requests the State Party to submit to the World Heritage Centre, by 1 December 2025, an updated report on the state of conservation of the property and the implementation of the above, for examination by the World Heritage Committee at its 48th session.
