Maya Site of Copan (Honduras)

The World Heritage Committee,

Having examined Documents WHC/21/44.COM/8B and WHC/21/44.COM/INF.8B1,
Approves proposed buffer zone for the Maya Site of Copan, Honduras;
Recommends that the State Party give consideration to the following:
1. Closely working with the private owners of the land included in zone 2 in order to achieve the best possible protection of the World Heritage property and its value,
2. Applying as strictly as possible the Law for the Protection of Cultural Heritage with the aim to protect all relevant elements pertaining to the National Monument within the Copan Valley.
