The 7th edition of the World Heritage Site Managers’ Forum was held both online (23 June 2025) and in UNESCO Headquarters (7-9 July 2025) in conjunction with the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee. The Forum brought together 18 professionals responsible for the management of 17 World Heritage properties, located in 17 countries, to reflect on the theme “Enhancing engagement in the World Heritage Reactive Monitoring process”.
The Forum was financially supported by the Republic of Bulgaria. The English-French interpretation was provided with the support of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Republic of Ireland, the Republic of Korea and ICCROM provided travel grants to selected participants. The site visits were organized thanks to the Association of French World Heritage sites, City of Paris, and Fondation Le Corbusier.
During the Forum, participating site managers shared their experience with the Reactive Monitoring process and learned about various resources to support them. Recognizing the process as constructive, Statement of the Forum, among other points, emphasized the importance of involving different stakeholders and raising awareness of the obligations set out in the Convention. The site managers also called for their involvement in all stages of the Reactive Monitoring process.
