Seminar leads to Recommendations for Site Managers

A Capacity-Building Seminar was held in Vilnius, Lithuania from 18 to 20 October, 2017, for Managers of Eastern European sites.

The practical Capacity-building Seminar took place over two days, during which were presented three thematic lectures given by international experts from World Heritage Centre, ICOMOS, ICCROM, accompanied by three leading practical workshops and individual case studies presented by the site managers of different countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine). The findings and insights of the Seminar led to the setting of Recommendations for Site Managers, which were presented to the World Heritage Centre.

The aim of the project was to have an overview of the site managers‘ field of activities, obligations and cooperation (national, international) in the framework of the implementation of the World Heritage Convention and its Operational Guidelines.
