The workshop, organized by Inter Connections 21 – ASPnet USA, will present to educators the World Heritage Convention, it’s implementation and the educational value and potential of the 788 cultural and natural sites around the world that are inscribed on the World Heritage List. The workshop will also discuss the local and global significance of World Heritage and the importance of its inclusion in the education curriculum.
Teachers participating in this workshop will receive the ‘World Heritage in Young Hands’ educational resource kit and a full introduction to the use of this educational material. Participants will also be invited to take part in a larger initiative, launched in collaboration with the United Nations Foundation, which aims to develop strategies for raising the profile of World Heritage Education in the United States.
