This Advanced Course is offered by the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and the Pacific Region (WHITR-AP), Suzhou Centre, Suzhou, China, and The School of Architecture of Southeast University, China, under the auspices of UNESCO.
The course adopts a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach and is designed for trainees to be familiar with the theories and principles of the conservation and restoration of the timber structures.
Specific objectives of the course are:
The course is designed for a maximum of 30 participants and is open to the engineers, technicians and craftsmen in the field of restoration of traditional architecture. It includes a site study tour in Fujian Tulou, inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2008 (7 November—11 November, 2010).
The course will be conducted in English and Chinese.
