EUROPARC is the umbrella organization of Europe’s protected areas. It unites national and regional parks, nature parks and biosphere reserves in 38 countries, with the common aim of protecting Europe’s unique variety of wildlife, habitats and landscapes.
This year’s conference is part of the European Nature Conference 2005, and is jointly organized with Eurosite, the European Centre for Nature Conservation (ECNC) and the European Environmental Bureau (EEB). More than 300 professionals from protected areas, environmental ministries and major European conservation organizations are expected to attend.
The thematic conference takes an in-depth look at subjects of current importance for European protected areas. In plenary sessions and thematic workshops, participants are able to explore the issues and develop common solutions and recommendations for future work. The General Assembly is the occasion for EUROPARC members to review the Federation's activities and to set priorities for the coming year.
