UNESCO/IUCN mission to East Rennell

From 10 to 21 May 2019, UNESCO's World Heritage Centre and IUCN undertook a monitoring mission to East Rennell (Solomon Islands).
The mission team assessed the state of conservation of the World Heritage site and consulted with Solomon Islands authorities, the Council of Chiefs, local communities and civil society representatives.

Reactive Monitoring missions are part of the statutory reporting by the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee on the state of conservation of specific properties that are under threat.

The Reactive Monitoring mission report and its recommendations is available here
