The World Heritage Committee,

  1. Having examined Document WHC-12/36.COM/8B,
  2. Approves the proposed name change to Samarkand – Crossroads of Cultures as proposed by the Uzbek authorities. The name of the property becomes Samarkand – Crossroad of Cultures in English.
