An International Workshop to disseminate the publication World Heritage in Young Hands - Resource Kit for Teachers, was held at Chartres World Heritage site.
Some 20 representatives of UNESCO from several regions, academicians and international experts in the field of education and heritage conservation discussed a global strategy for the future implementation of the World Heritage Education Project. The experts gave a positive analysis of the Kit and were of the opinion that it should be adapted to local contexts for its effective use. The conduct of training workshops for using the Kit was also seen to be vital, as was the development of National Plans of Action for WHE.
One of the main objectives of the Workshop was to explore possibilities of introducing Heritage Education through the use of the Resource Kit in senior secondary schools, especially in the ASPnet schools, in the member states.
