The World Heritage Committee,
- Having examined Document WHC-15/39.COM/7B,
- Recalling Decision 38 COM 7B.3, adopted at its 38th session (Doha, 2014),
- Notes the State Party's efforts in the conservation of the property, in particular following the 2014 floods which damaged parts of the property;
- Commends the State Party for the achievements of the 2007-2012 Management Plan and encourages it to continue the positive participatory dynamic that this plan has generated, for the development of the new 2016-2021 Management Plan and its implementation schedule;
- Requests the State Party to provide information about the special financial account for the conservation of the property, and take the necessary steps to ensure that sufficient resources are allocated for the conservation and sustainable management of the property, in the framework of the Management Plan in preparation;
- Reiterates its request to the State Party to submit to the World Heritage Centre detailed information on the impact of the opening up of the bridge connecting the two banks of the Wadi el-Maleh on the property; and, more broadly, reiterates its recommendation to adopt an integrated approach centered on the historic urban landscape as an additional tool for sustainable management of the property;
- Also requests the State Party to submit to the World Heritage Centre, by 1 December 2016 an updated report, including a 1-page executive summary on the state of conservation of the property and the implementation of the above, for consideration by the World Heritage Committee at its 41st session in 2017.
