Conservation issues presented to the World Heritage Committee in 2000
In May 2000, a general report on work on the Convents of San Francisco, in Tochimilco, and San Agustín, in Puebla, was submitted by the State Party. It was followed by a report in July 2000 on the advances of consolidation and restoration work done in the whole region affected by the earthquakes in 1999, detailing that 93 % of the work was concluded, with only 298 buildings still in state of repair.
