Mubuga marsh at about 2,300 m is covered with grasses, sedges, and vast Erica rugegensis moors. The tall Lobelia mildbreadii, up to 4 m high, is common
as are the flowers of the red hot poker Kniphofia sp. (on the right), an Albertine Rift endemic.
