The Regional Encounter of Experts on Heritage, Biodiversity & Community aims to improve management of natural heritage sites and protected areas, study and debate on lessons learnt and enhancement of the application of Heritage toolkits.
A unique encounter with 2 workshops under a same umbrella to gather a variety of experts in concurrent fields:
1) First pilot workshop on cultural landscapes in the framework of the Caribbean Capacity Building Programme (Module 4), led by Phd. Arch Isabel Rigol, Cuba with the cooperation of Elias Mujica, Peru.
2) Workshop introducing the "Business Planning Toolkit for Natural Heritage" for the management of natural sites, contributing to agricultural diversity, the protection of Biosphere Reserves and the promotion of sustainable alternatives for the development of local communities. The workshop is aiming to create a new module 6 of CCBP focused on natural heritage. It will be led by Arch Enrique Hernandez, expert on Cuban natural protected areas, with the cooperation of Phd. Angela Leyva, Honorary MAB secretary and Director of the National Botanic Garden of Cuba.
