JEAN MARIE DUTHILLEUL
ASK A QUESTION

Jean Marie Duthilleul, director of the French railway giant SNCF's urban development department, is known as much for his genius in spatial organisation as for his expertise in project management. He was born in 1952 and became an engineer in 1975 after graduating from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. Duthilleul earned a degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in 1977 and his architect's diploma in 1979. Today Duthilleul is responsible for all of SNCF's urban development and architectural studies. Among other projects, he is credited with works at the Gare Montparnasse and the Gare du Nord in Paris, new rail stations at Lille-Europe, Charles de Gaulle airport, EuroDisney, and other major rail stations in France, as well as in Seoul.
