Patrimonito and Docomodake bring World Heritage sites to young people
To mark the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the UNESCOWorld Heritage Convention, Dentsu, EVERGREEN Digital Contents and NTT DOCOMO, in collaboration with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, have launched a special cartoon film featuring the friendship between “Patrimonito”, the mascot of the World Heritage Education programme, and “Docomodake”, the mascot of NTT DOCOMO, the mobile communications company of Japan.
In this cartoon film “Share The Beauty - Bringing the unknown to you and to the world”, Patrimonito and Docomodake travel together around the world bringing the beauty of natural World Heritage to young viewers.
Anyone with access to the website, mobile or smartphones can easily enjoy the beautiful natural World Heritage sites in faraway lands that they may not have seen nor known about before.
The film aims to share the emotion, the impressive scale and sheer energy of natural World Heritage sites with children all over the world.
About UNESCO Kids Project
The UNESCO Kids Project was launched in 2006. This entertaining and educational i-mode site for schoolchildren is a partnership between UNESCO, EVERGREEN Digital Contents and Dentsu, supported by the top mobile telecommunications company NTT DOCOMO of Japan.
The project focuses on raising awareness and encouraging children’s interest in nature, to learn more about it and to appreciate the natural world. It also aims to encourage young people to visit World Heritage sites responsibly and to share their experience by photographing their visits and contributing them through the i-mode site.
Registration on the UNESCO Kids mobile site is free so that as many children as possible can access the films on World Heritage sites. There are now more than 50,000 members.
