OWHC Northwest European Regional Conference “Earth, Wind, Water, Fire – Environmental Challenges to Urban World Heritage”

The City of Regensburg, a German medieval town, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006, will host this year's OWHC Northwest European Regional Conference

The selected conference theme ‘Earth, Wind, Water, Fire - Environmental Challenges to Urban World Heritage’ fits perfectly into the concept of the United Nation’s ‘International Year of Planet Earth’. Within different thematic sessions dedicated to the topics ‘Earth’, ‘Wind’, ‘Water’ and ‘Fire’, experts and site managers will present case studies on how natural hazards and environmental conditions compromise the cultural heritage values of historic cities and discuss about innovative protective measures and strategies.

Although it is the Northwest-European Regional Conference, members of the other OWHC-Regions are welcome to participate.
