Description
Construction period -1889 to 1894. This cathedral is of the Gothic style, built entirely of timber except for low masonry foundation walls.
At 43.59 metres high, it has been described by the Architects' Journal (10 July, 1985) as "the largest wooden church building in the world".
It features typical elements of Gothic architecture- flying buttresses, traceried windows, clerestory, pointed arches, "black and white" framing of Elizabethan times.
