DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the World Heritage Pacific 2009 Programme, which was approved by the World Heritage Committee in 2004, a Pacific Islands World Heritage Workshop was held from 13 to 17 October 2008 in Cairns, Australia.
The Workshop gathered, which benefited financial support from Australia and the World Heritage Fund,  as many as 80 participants including representatives from 14 Pacific Island countries in order to achieve the following objectives:
