DESCRIPTION:This workshop, which is being held in the Islamic Republic of Iran, is the first of a series of itinerant workshops which will bring together site managers from a selection of World Heritage sites in Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as cultural heritage authorities. At present there is little or no cooperation between the heritage professionals working in the region, despite the many similarities in types of heritage and the conservation challenges.
