Description

NB- This site has to be considered as part of the Troodos ophiolite, a 90 million year old fragment of extremely well-preserved oceanic crust.



In an excellent road section the sheeted Dyke Complex (layer 2) of oceanic crust is superbly exposed. Spreading processes and hydrothermal alteration within this part of the oceanic crust can be studied here.
